General Logo Usage
Can I use an old National Beta logo I already have?
No. Only the approved logos for use on the Sponsor Resource Page on the Sponsor Site are allowed.
Where can I find the National Beta logos?
Download the logos for use as well as the Terms and Conditions on the Sponsor Resource Page on the Sponsor Site.
Who can use the National Beta logos?
The official National Beta Insignia and Beta Shield logos are available for use by chartered National Beta clubs in good standing. Logos may only be used for approved local promotional materials, club activities, and official Beta competitions, challenges, or exhibitions. Any other use requires express permission from National Beta.
Which National Beta logos can I use?
Only the official Insignia and Beta Shield logos are approved for club use.
The National Beta word mark and JW mascot are not approved for use by local clubs. Download the logos for use as well as the Terms and Conditions on the Sponsor Resource Page on the Sponsor Site.
Can I use AI to create a design featuring a National Beta logo?
No. AI may not be used to create a design containing a National Beta logo or to recreate a National Beta logo based on another image. If you are creating artwork that includes a National Beta logo, use the official logo files provided by National Beta.
Where Can I Use the Logo?
Can I use a National Beta logo on a flyer or poster?
Yes. Approved uses include local promotional materials such as:
- Flyers and posters
- Brochures and newsletters
- Invitations
- Bakery items (including Onsite Cake Decorating)
- Temporary banners
- Local club websites
- Local club social media
When used on websites or social media, the local club name must also be included.
Can I put the National Beta logo on a club T-shirt?
Yes, provided the shirt follows the logo guidelines.
Local club T-shirts must:
- Include the local club name
- Use an approved National Beta logo
- Follow the approved logo color combinations
- Keep the logo unaltered
- Not be sold for profit
Can I sell T-shirts or merchandise featuring the National Beta logo?
No. Materials containing a National Beta logo cannot be sold for profit.
This includes club T-shirts, trading pins, and other merchandise featuring a National Beta logo.
Can I use a National Beta logo on a website or social media account?
Yes, for local club promotion. The local club name must also be included, and the logo must follow all approved usage guidelines.
Can I use the logo for an induction ceremony or club event?
Yes! Only the official Insignia and Beta Shield logos are approved for club use.
Trading Pins
Can I put the National Beta logo on a club trading pin?
Yes, but there are specific requirements.
Any club trading pin that includes a National Beta logo must be entered into the Club Trading Pin competition.
Trading pins featuring a National Beta logo cannot be sold for profit.
Can I make a trading pin for the Beta Blitz challenge and enter it in the Club Trading Pin competition?
No. Trading pins designed for the Beta Blitz challenge may not be produced by the club (only designed), meaning they are not eligible for entry into the Club Trading Pin competition.
Can I sell my club's trading pins?
No. Trading pins containing a National Beta logo cannot be sold for profit.
Logo Design Rules
Can I change the color of the National Beta logo?
No. Logos must only be used in the approved color combinations provided by National Beta.
Do not recolor the logo.
Can I stretch, crop, or resize the logo?
The logo may be resized while maintaining its original proportions, but it cannot be stretched, distorted, cropped, or otherwise altered.
Can I remove part of the logo?
No. Do not remove, add, edit, or rearrange any part of an official National Beta logo.
Can I place the logo over a photo or artwork?
No. Do not place the National Beta logo over or alongside your own images or copyrighted material in a way that could imply that National Beta endorses, sponsors, or is a benefactor of that content.
Can I place the logo on a busy background?
No. The National Beta logo should remain visible and legible.
Do not place the logo on visually busy or complex backgrounds that make the logo difficult to see.
Can I create an unofficial logo inspired by the National Beta logo?
No. Unofficial logos or designs recreated or developed from official National Beta logos are not approved for use.
Approval
Do I need approval before using a National Beta logo?
National Beta recommends contacting the Marketing Department before incorporating a logo into any club or event materials.
Email branding@betaclub.org with your questions or design for review.
Is conceptual approval the same as final approval?
No.
If National Beta provides conceptual approval, you must still receive final approval before production or distribution.
What should I send to National Beta for approval?
Send your proposed design or a mockup to branding@betaclub.org along with any relevant information about how and where the design will be used.
The Marketing Department can help determine whether your proposed use follows the logo guidelines.
Can I share National Beta's logo with a student, parent, vendor, or printing company?
Yes! Be sure to send all recipients our approved logos for use as well as our Terms & Conditions for use. If your vendor has questions about use, they can email branding@betaclub.org.
What if my vendor needs a vector file of National Beta's logo?
Let your vendor know to email branding@betaclub.org with the logo needed along with any relevant information about how and where the design will be used. The Marketing Department will send the vendor a vector file directly for use.
Copyright & Other Brands
Can I use other companies' logos, artwork, or designs with a National Beta logo?
Any materials created with a National Beta logo must also comply with third-party copyright and intellectual property laws.
Do not copy or use another company's, brand's, or creator's:
- Logos
- Artwork
- Slogans
- Designs
- Concepts
without the appropriate permission.
National Beta's approval of a design does not grant permission to use another party's copyrighted or trademarked material.
Does National Beta approval protect my design from copyright issues?
No. The creator is responsible for ensuring that all other elements of the design comply with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Can I combine the National Beta logo with my school's logo or mascot?
You may use your school's logo or mascot alongside National Beta's logo. However, our logo should not be combined, altered, rearranged or covered by any other elements.
Club Status
Can I continue using National Beta logos if my club is no longer in good standing?
No. Logo usage is dependent upon the club remaining a chartered club in good standing.
