Project Proposal

Working Together Creates Change!

Do you have a heart for service and helping others?  Then this is the challenge for YOU! This is your chance to step-up and be the Beta Leaders you were meant to be in your school, community and state by addressing a need and presenting a creative way to meet it.

What’s the Challenge?

Don’t miss your chance to work as a club to propose a service project to address a need in your school, community or state.  This avenue to serve needs to be a NEW project for your club and one that can truly bring about change and smiles galore.  Most importantly, your success will make a difference to those in need.  Everything will be done prior to the summit with the naming of the project, branding/logos, timeframe, supplies/money needed, etc.  A team of 3-5 members will present the project onsite at the summit in an expo format for the judges.  So, think outside the box with marketing and creativity to make this service project one to remember!

  • Challenge Time:  2 Minutes
  • Number of Participants:  3-5
  • Time Limit: 2 minutes to present, followed by 1 minute for questions.
  • Materials: Use presentation boards, brochures, pamphlets, props, costumes, and digital devices (Chromebook, iPad, etc.) for your expo.
  • No Power: No electrical outlets, internet, or projectors will be provided.
  • Handouts: Feel free to distribute handouts or documentation for further review.

Why Participate?

  • Showcase your creativity and passion for service.
  • Make a positive impact on your community to inspire real-world change!
  • Gain experience in project planning and presentation skills.

Challenge Guidelines

  1. Gather Your Supplies:  Each team may use a presentation board, poster board, Chromebook, iPads, paper, markers, pencils, costumes, and handouts to bring your creative vision of a service project to life. This is your chance to propose the project to a group of judges as a “potential sales pitch” opportunity.
  2. Design Your Logo/Brand:  The goal is to create a logo or brand that is unique to the proposed service project.  This could be used in a t-shirt design, trading pin, buttons, banners, handouts, flyers, etc., that reflects the excitement, energy, and most importantly, the importance of this project.  Make sure your logo/branding is eye-catching and a great way to promote the project to gather support.
  3. Present at Leadership:  Everything must be brought to pitch your proposed service project to the leadership summit. Be ready to pitch your project, why it is needed, who it will serve, how it will be implemented and a timeframe for it to be completed. Participants will have 2 minutes to present with follow up questions.
  4. Scoring:  Teams will be scored on Creativity of Service Project, Collaboration, Logo/Brand Design, Presentation Skills and Impact of the Project.
