Premier Performer
National Beta Premier Performer showcases outstanding dancers and vocalists while celebrating the leadership, service, and spirit of National Beta. Selected students represent their state by participating in a collaborative opening production during the National Convention. At State Convention, Betas that are selected will receive a Golden Ticket with information about registration, cost, etc.
Purpose
Premier Performers are selected to:
- Showcase exceptional student talent in dancing and singing.
- Promote collaboration among Betas from across the nation.
- Inspire convention attendees through music and dance.
- Provide students with a memorable leadership and performance experience.
- Represent the values of National Beta with professionalism and character.
Key Details
- Selection Process: Students, dancers and vocalists, are hand selected at their State Conventions by Coordinators and Judges for Performing Arts (Solo, Duo, Trio and Group) along with Songfest and Show Choir.
- Performance Opportunity: Selected students perform in the opening production at the National Convention.
- Vocalists: Premier Performer vocalists also perform the National Anthem during the Opening General Session.
- Recognition: Being named a Premier Performer is considered a special honor
Premier Performer Expectations
Selected students are expected to:
- Attend every scheduled rehearsal.
- Arrive on time and prepared.
- Follow directions from choreographer and directors.
- Demonstrate respect toward fellow performers and staff.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Represent National Beta with professionalism.
- Wear required rehearsal and performance attire.
- Refrain from behavior that distracts from rehearsals or performances.
*Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the performance.
Rehearsal Commitment
Premier Performers should expect to participate in the following at National Convention:
- Music and choreography rehearsals
- Stage blocking
- Technical rehearsal
- Dress rehearsal
- Opening General Session performance
*Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory.
Registration
The registration cost for Premier Performer is $40. A sponsor must complete BOTH the National Convention registration and Premier Performer registration by 5:00 PM EST on April 22, 2027. These are separate registrations, and late registration for Premier Performer will not be accepted.
