Competition Guidelines

The following rules and regulations should be read carefully.  By submitting the nomination, the sponsor and school are agreeing to abide by these rules and regulations:

  1. One Elementary Leadership Ambassador, two Junior Leadership Ambassadors and three Senior Leadership Ambassadors will be selected and serve the following year.
  2. If a Ambassador is selected and later dropped from the local club or if the Ambassador is not enrolled actively in school during the entire term, the Ambassador forfeits the right to serve as a Leadership Ambassador.  It is imperative for the selected Ambassador and or club sponsor to notify the National Office immediately if he/she is unable to serve.
  3. Nominees will be given an onsite task and be evaluated on collaborative/leadership skills as well as a short interview.
  4. Representatives must wear business casual attire (sport coat/blazer, dress pants/slacks, button down dress shirt/ dress blouse/polo collared shirt/sweater,  dress/skirt - must be knee length (or longer) with no slit above the knee to the interview.
  5. Submission of the registration comes with the understanding  that he/she will attend all of the Ambassador meetings and sessions of the Convention, and will fulfill all of the duties assigned the following year.  This means he/she is obligated to attend all meetings and sessions both years, when nominated and when serving as a National Leadership Ambassador.  Failure to fulfill this obligation will result in the representative forfeiting his/her opportunity to  serve.
  6. It is the responsibility of the club/school in which a student is enrolled to register the representative for the National Convention.
  7. Students selected as a National Leadership Ambassador are not eligible to run for state office at the state convention or the following year's convention.
